Mass Deportation Works: American Workers Rush to Fill Jobs Once Taken by Illegal Aliens in Nebraska
Disclaimer: This post is not an advertisement for legal services. It represents my personal opinions and observations, supported by facts from public sources. I’m simply sharing my perspective on an issue that impacts American workers and the integrity of our laws.
For decades, we’ve been force-fed the lie that “Americans won’t do those jobs.” We were told that enforcing immigration law would destroy industries, cause shortages, and leave critical roles unfilled. But when ICE stepped in and removed 76 illegal workers from a food processing facility in Nebraska?
Over 200 American citizens applied to take their place.
That’s not an opinion — that’s a fact.
The company went from “how will we keep the plant running?” to “we’ve got more applicants than open slots” in a matter of hours. So, here’s the uncomfortable truth for the open-borders crowd:
Mass deportation works.
Illegal labor isn’t just illegal — it’s modern-day slave labor
Let’s be very clear: there is a place for legal immigration. America has always welcomed those who follow the law, respect our values, and come here the right way. At my law office, we assist clients every day with doing it the right way — through legal immigration channels that respect our laws, the individual and honor the American dream.
But what we can’t allow — ever again — is a system where employers knowingly exploit illegal workers for cheap, off-the-books, under-the-table labor. That’s not compassion. That’s not economic necessity.
That’s modern-day slavery — and it’s being used to undercut the American worker.
When people say, “Americans don’t want to do those jobs,” what they really mean is:
Americans won’t do those jobs at slave wages.
And why would they?
Why would a business pay a fair wage to a U.S. citizen when it can illegally hire an undocumented worker, pay them less than minimum wage, ignore safety rules, deny benefits, and threaten deportation if they complain?
Illegal labor isn’t just unfair — it’s abusive. These workers often endure:
Unsafe working conditions
Long hours with no overtime pay
Sexual harassment and retaliation
Wage theft with no legal recourse
All while lining the pockets of companies that pretend they "can't find help."
It’s not about jobs Americans won’t do — it’s about jobs businesses won’t pay Americans fairly to do. Enforcing the law levels that playing field.
Americans will do the work — when given the chance
The Gateway Pundit article reported that more than 200 local Nebraskans showed up to apply when the illegal workers were removed. Some were previously unemployed. Others were looking for second jobs. All were willing to step in, roll up their sleeves, and get to work.
So what happened to “the jobs Americans won’t do”?
The answer is simple: they were taken from Americans by companies cutting corners. When those jobs were reclaimed through enforcement of the law, Americans showed up.
This is how it’s supposed to work.
A path forward — with borders and law intact
We don’t need open borders. We don’t need excuses. We need a system that works for Americans first — and that includes:
Enforcing existing immigration law
Deporting those here illegally, especially those working unlawfully
Cracking down on employers who profit from illegal labor
Welcoming legal immigrants who follow the process and contribute
This is not about race. It’s not about cruelty. It’s about order, fairness, and sovereignty.
America cannot be a nation of laws and simultaneously turn a blind eye to millions of people working here illegally, paid under the table, exploited, and used to drive down wages for everyone else.
Final Thought
They said it couldn’t be done. They said deportation would cause chaos.
Instead, Americans filled the gap overnight.
This wasn’t a crisis — it was a correction.
And if this single Nebraska story is any indication of what happens when we finally enforce the law, then it’s time to scale it nationally.
Because when illegal labor goes out… American opportunity walks back in.
