Dear NOAA: You Can’t Gaslight Us Forever

With all the extreme weather we’ve seen lately — torrential flooding, erratic hurricane tracks, and patterns that feel anything but natural — I did what any concerned citizen would do: I went to NOAA’s website, hoping for some clarity. What I found instead stopped me in my tracks.

Right there on their “myths vs. facts” page, NOAA confidently states:
“No technology exists that can create, destroy, modify, strengthen or steer hurricanes in any way, shape or form.”

I nearly choked on my water.

After decades of documented government-funded weather modification programs, declassified experiments, and a mountain of patents — this is the line they’re going with? As if none of that ever happened? As if we’re too uninformed — or too distracted — to know any better? NOAA wants you to believe they’re helpless bystanders to hurricanes.

Bullsh*t.

That’s when I knew I had to write this.

Because the level of denial isn’t just dishonest — it’s insulting. It’s the kind of blanket statement you make when you’re counting on people not asking questions. When you’re betting on the public’s ignorance. Well, some of us read the fine print. And some of us still ask questions.
